John Gionas is a seasoned technology business executive & entrepreneur in the ICT and energy markets. He co-founded Meazon and prior to that he worked for Ericsson and ABB in senior commercial operations roles.
He started his career as ERP management consultant in ACE Hellas. He moved to ABB as a sales engineer for industrial energy systems and then joined Ericsson in 1999 as a product marketing specialist gradually moving through various product marketing, presales and account management positions reaching the level of Regional Sales Director. He served as a member of the Management Board of Ericsson Southeast Europe, and Director of Wireline, Government & Networked Enterprise Accounts. Led negotiations & successfully contracted and managed implementation of projects worth tens of millions such as roll out of 3G networks, 13 Municipalities Metropolitan Area Networks and telcos services contracts. Successfully negotiated debt settlement of customers of several million Euros.
In Meazon he led strategic and business planning, commercial operations, business control, contract management and digital marketing. He currently serves as Meazon’s COO. He also served as a Project Coordinator in multimillion publicly funded technology R&D projects.
He holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering (University of Patras), an M.Sc. in Information Engineering (City University of London) and an MBA (Athens University of Economics & Business). He is also a graduate of a professional program in high tech management from Berkeley University, California.
